Make some homemade peanut brittle candy,have yard sales, good luck.
Get someone to donate something that would be a nice prize and have a raffle. When you are selling the tickets make sure you mention what the raffle is making money for.
One thing we did at a university I was at was to raffle off a Valentine Romantic Evening (girl not included). We got a restraint to donate the dinner for two, one of the students was a violinist and he played at the dinner. The lucky couple also got a pair of movie tickets. The only thing we couldn't arrange (but tried) was to get a limo or a really nice car and driver to chauffeur.
