Can comeone tell me where is the best place to get good vanilla beans? I bought a couple at a Whole Foods Store (which is supposed to be so great), and they were simply not good at all. They looked good, but didn't taste right at all. Now, I'm afraid to even try again. I know it had something to do with the quality of the beans.

I would love to make my own vanilla.

Thanks for sharing your recipe and directions.

You use brandy. Would good vodka be better? I've seen this used on TV and would love to try it! Thanks fr sharing!

You should store it in a dark container. If you notice, vanilla extract you buy in the store is in dark glass.
