I keep a crock of cheap coffee by the sink and use it to dip some out to scrub my hands after cutting onions and garlic. It really works to eliminate the odors!

I do the same thing with table salt. I wet my hands, pour a mound of salt into my palms, scrub and rinse with tap water. removes even garlic smeels
I do the same except I add some honey and a little vegetable oil to act as a exfoliant. It removes dead cells and rehydrates and smoothes my hands!
Oh, I love you for this tip. But no need to buy even cheap coffee, use your coffee grounds. I throw my coffee grounds into a crock along with kitchen veggie scraps & egg shells for my compost pile. I read your tip and remembered it today when I shelled my shrimp.
