Leftover Turkey Ideas

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 846 Posts

Of course you should use the turkey carcass to make turkey broth for future use but here are some more ideas using your own favorite year round standard recipes, simply by substituting the beef, pork, chicken and even tuna with leftover turkey :-) Grind, chop, shred or cube accordingly:

Meatloaf, casserole, stroganoff, stuffed bell peppers, meatballs, chili, burgers, tacos, lasagna, omelets, pot stickers, pizza, mac and cheese, sandwiches and don't forget pot pies, soups and salads ;-)

Although it may sound gross, the traditional day after breakfast in my family was turkey, gravy and rice. We loved turkey so much that we had it on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Mom's birthday (Jan 8) and my sister's birthday (Feb 7). Even buying 20 lb turkeys and only having a family of 4 we always had to buy another one for each of these celebrations.

Frazzled Leslie, I don't think it sounds gross at all! Hey, better than leftover pizza for breakfast IMHO :-) And you just gave me another idea for turkey leftovers, 'turkey hash' using your three ingredients ;-) Thanks for posting :-)

How long can you safely keep leftover turkey and ham in the refrigerator before freezing it?
