Removing Waterproofing from Leather Coat?

I'm totally allergic to the waterproofing compound used on my leather coat, and I need it completely removed. I want to wear it, I just don't want my skin and respiratory system to burn. Any tips?

I can't locate any info on your question so I suggest to donate it & get a new coat, good luck.

Have you tried contacting a clothing leather cleaning specialist in your area? Even a furniture leather cleaning company might be able to help you.

Since you have allergies to the waterproofing I would ask what chemicals they would be using to remove it though :-o
