I have a very old white crocheted table cloth that belonged to my great grandmother, but there is a lot of yellowed stains on it. I didn't want to just try anything to attempt to remove the stains. If anyone has had this same issue, please advise. Thanks
My mother-in-law sponges with diluted lemon juice and lays it in the sun to dry.
I would let it soak in Oxiclean. It seems to remove a lot of stains and really brightens dull, dingy items.
Another two items to try (but not together) are white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.
Dissolve a tablespoon of dish washing powder in a bucket of warm water. Let the tablecloth soak in this maybe over night.
Try the Biz bucket, it is what Martha Pullen uses to clean antique heirloom things. Change water every day and support the tablecloth when you remove from the solution. In fact you might line a large bucket with a towel - clip the towel to rim or tape it and soak the tablecloth for 24 hours and then check. I have used this to get formula stains out of antique baby stuff.

I have my mother's crocheted tablecloth that is 66 yrs old, but it has a few yellow stains. How do I get them out? The tablecloth is not white, it is off white. Will this make a difference on what I use?

Two things I would try would be white vinegar and, if that doesn't work, you could try an oxidizing cleanser like Oxyclean and allow it to soak.
I have gotten stains out with first some peroxide and then I let it sit. I squirted some dish soap on it and rubbed it and let it sit some more.
I use lemon juice and salt and put in the sun to draw the stains out, just soak in a cup of reconstructed (cheap kind) lemon juice add l/4 cup salt to it. The salt draws out the stain into the salt. if this fails treat each stain by laying flat over a plastic screen pour lemon juice on and add salt and let the sun draw.
I have a hand crocheted table cloth (ivory color) that had some dark wood stain spilled on it! Any suggestions on saving it? Should I try dyeing it?
You could do a tea dye. It would look pretty natural.
Gently dab a LITTLE bit of mineral spirits on a section to see if it lifts. If it works, continue with the rest.
I had an old stain on an antique crocheted tablecloth that was caused from plant water leaking. I put Spray and Wash on it and left it for a few days. Then I washed it in Tide and colorsafe bleach. The stain turned into black spots that look similar to mold spots. I'm not sure if it was a chemical reaction or if it is mold from leaving the Spray and Wash on. How can I get them out?
