Hi, My husband and I have a 8 year old Newfie Dog and we got him when he was 10 wks old. He is the most gentle, loveable and beautiful dog we have ever had. They are truely your companion for life. He loves the winters outside, but also loves being inside with us. Has to see his owners at all times and remember they see and feel the same as humans. Where ever you go they will follow and where ever you are sitting they will be there lying at your feet. I love him like a child and I treat him like a child. He deserves nothing but the best.

Editor's Note: Rhonda, it would be great if you could submit a picture. I don't think we have had a Newfie in the pet pictures yet.

Newfoundlands are incredibly loving, docile companions. I got my "Beau" when he was 10 wks old and he was hands down the best dog I've ever had. He lived to the ripe old age of 11, was energetic and playful to the end and had a heart of gold. As big as he was and as intimidating as he could be, it was as if he sensed it with children and made a point to sit very still when they approached him to pet him, which he LOVED!!

He adored attention and was as loyal and smart as a dog could be. Extremely easy to train and I would have another Newf in a heartbeat if I hadn't downsized housing recently. Wonderful family dog and all around companion!

I recently bought a beautiful Newfie from the SPCA, the whole litter was saved from a reserve and those 6 pup's found homes within hours. She is my very first puppy, and I am so lucky to have a great loving and intellegent pup! I've had her for a month now, she is 11 weeks old and can already "stay", "come", shake both paws, sit and lay down on commant, incredible! Its still cold outside so she has yet to be in the water, but she loves the bath tub, she oes crazy with joy just be being a little wet near running water.

I think she may be mixed with mallamute because her eyes are ctystal blue, almost white at times... any advise from anyone about this? She is identical to a little neuf, I've done my research and I recommend this breed to anyone who wants a patient and loving companion!
