Cheesecake Cookies

Ingredients

• 5 Tbsp. butter
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 1 cup flour
• 2 Tbsp. milk
• 1/4 cup chopped walnuts

• 1-2 Tbsp. lemon juice
• 1 package cream cheese (8 oz.)
• 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

Step 1: In a mixer bowl, beat butter for 30 seconds to soften. Add the brown sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in flour and nuts. Set aside 1 cup of this mixture.

Step 2: Press remaining mixture into bottom of ungreased 8x8 baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 12 minutes.

Step 3: Meanwhile, beat together the cream cheese and sugar. Add the egg and milk, lemon juice, and vanilla and mix well. Pour over baked layer.

Step 4: Sprinkle reserved butter mixture over top. Bake in 350 degree F oven for 25 minutes. Cool, cut into bars. Store covered in the refrigerator. Makes 28 bars.
