Ingredients

  • 9 Tbsp. cracker crumbs, medium ground, not too fine
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 scant cup sugar
  • 1 lb. dates
  • 1 lb. nuts
  • Advertisement

  • 6 eggs, well beaten, separately

Directions

Mix ingredients in order given. Add eggs separately after beating. Bake in slow oven (325 degrees F) until done.

I would love to know where you got this recipe? I have made this for over 40 years. This is a dessert that we make only at Christmas. My great grandmother said her husbands family from Germany gave her the recipe. There is a little difference in the amounts but that is all. me and my sister are the only ones that I know that make this. Please email me. Thanks Karen. kkwest1956 AT yahoo.com
