Butterscotch Haystacks

Ingredients:
  • 12 oz. bag of butterscotch chips
  • 3 oz. chow mein noodles
  • 2 cups salted peanuts

Directions:

Melt butterscotch chips in top of double boiler. Remove from heat and immediately stir in chow mein noodles until all are coated then quickly stir in peanuts. Drop on wax paper with tablespoon.

Let cool until firm. Makes about 2 dozen.

Hi,
A variation on this called Chow Mein Candy:
2 cups mixed nuts -coursely chopped
6oz chow mein noodles
6blocks white Almond Bark
12oz Butterscotch Chips

Advertisement

In large heavy bottom Dutch Oven, heat over low heat chips and almond bark till just melted. Add noodles and nuts. Mix well. Drop by tablespoons onto wax paper.
Makes about 3dz
