Try GooGone. It's awesome on stuff like that. Also if you have some lighter fluid handy it works well on non-flamable areas.

Have you tried a hairdryer?

I have used cooking oil to get labels off things. All you have to do is cover the label real good with cooking oil and let it soak in the label, and then peel it off...

This works like a charm !! placed some cooking oil on a paper towel..then applied the moist paper towel on the label..and voila in a matter of seconds the label started peeling off. Works wonders...

Let me clarify this request... the product name, etc is not a label (as in paper glued onto the package) it is some kind of plastic which seems heat (?) sealed onto the container. I have had marginal success using packaging tape to strip the product info off yet this is expensive!

Help! These are fabulous containers (laundry detergent, cat litter, etc) for planting flowers, tomotoes, etc yet I don't want to advertise the previous contents! thanks -

I have used nail Polis remover to remove the words off. Takes some effort, but works. I used this to remove the words from a cat litter box.

Paint and varnish remover. Pour just a dollop on a side and then gently spread it over the image with a scrubbie sponge. In a matter of moments you can wipe off the image with the sponge. Wipe dry with paper towels. Effortless.

Rubbing alcohol and Magic Eraser and a little elbow grease work on chip dip and cottage cheese containers so might work on larger items also

I use spray paint. Use the kind for plastics as a primer them spray any color you like!

I've done that and it works great. I even changed the color of all my plastic lawn furniture that was looking dingy after a few seasons.

Acitone, Googone, etc, doesn't work that well to strip the silk-screened labels off. I use the aerosol 'CitriStrip' paint&varnish stripper gel from HD. Let a thick coat sit for 8-10 hours on one side panel at a time.

Use a plastic scraper to remove liquefied label to an old plastic food tray. Wipe down with mineral spirits & paper towels. Remember to wear nitrile gloves & safety glasses in a ventilated area!

You can NOT remove labels from cat litter buckets. They are not 'stickers'. They are actually a film that is applied to the mold before the bucket is made. When the hot, liquid plastic hits the side of the mold, the image is bonded to the plastic.

I just used CitriSolv to remove labels from a Tidy Cat container. Worked beautifully!
