Avoid Buying Gas On Weekends Or Holidays

When buying gas, always make sure you purchase it a couple of days before the weekend, or before a major holiday. That's when the big shots raise the prices; over the weekend when we have to run errands or during a holiday, when we travel to see our loved ones

Gas prices do not go up on week ends or holidays to satisfy the big shots. The service station gas price is listed daily at 6 pm and one can see the price on the financial channel along with the stock quotes and other commodities. If the price goes up or down the price will be reflected at the pump the following day.

Please remember that the gas stations themselves do not make much money on the gas. The high price is because of all the taxes on it. And, if you pay with a credit card, stations actually lose money.

This isn't always true. Yesterday (Monday), our gas in town went up another .10 cents. That used to be true, but not any longer.

Actually speaking as a gas station manager; price restorations (hikes) come on Monday or Wednesdays usually. We have to wait two days before doing a gas survey to reduce to lower than our competition in a one mile radius.

The best profit is close to 7 cents per gallon on premium and less on others.
