Google facial exercises and starting doing them on a regular bases. If you exercise, and lift weight the skin and your pore with tighten up. Use witch hazel and apple cider vinegar to wipe and freshen up your skin these will tighten your pores.

The only ways that I know of to remove black heads is to mash them out. First you should use a steam bath on your face to soften up the blackheads. If you have a vaporizer you can use it, or just heat some water up in a pot on the stove. Remove and/or turn off the stove and cover your heat with a towel to make sure that the steam gets on your face. After you remove some of the blackheads wash your face in cool water or cool witch hazel or apple cider. Also use a fade cream, and follow the directions on the fade cream container.

I suggest to use Vaseline to remove the eye makeup & a very warm wet wash cloth to remove the other makeup,no soap, then apply Vaseline on the clean face every day & night. Makes the face very soft, no wrinkles. Good luck.

Dove soap, and moisture, moisture, moisture!

Have a make up party, like Mary Kay, and get some free good stuff. Face it the company is time proven, even though they do give a semi pathetic name to the color pink.

I read once where Mariah Carey spritzes with MILK of all things.

Get a facial, it will be money well spent because might need/want the mental boat.

I use salicylic acid face wash and 10 percent benzyl peroxide acne cream morning and night. I also use cover girl clean make up. This combination seems to keep my acne under control. Your face will probably get pretty dry if you use all of these treatments at once. Start with the face wash and add the others a couple times a week. Good luck.

The blackheads are probably from the make up. A dr once told me blackheads were dirt/makeup/or even cigerette smoke that was trapped in the pores.

I would drop or go very light on the makeup and wash my face 2-3 times a day with warm -not hot, but warm water, and use one of the peel off face masks (avon has some good ones) 1 or 2 times a week.

Rinsing your face in cool water or using an astringent after washing helps close up the pores.

Adding some oatmeal or baking soda to your soap and water while washing will give you a slight abrasiveness without damaging your skin. That will help remove any dead skin or loose blackheads.

I use Olay face wash for sensitive skin with a Buff Puff. This works for me.

I wrote down the ingredients of Cetaphil and carry it in my wallet. I found the same formula at a dollar store and bought 6-8 bottles. If you can't find it at the dollar store, try the Walmart brand. I think it's about $3.97 for 16 oz.

Wet your face and then pour some of the 'gentle skin cleanser' in your hand and mix with baking soda. It's a GENTLE skin cleanser, doesn't aggravate your already stressed facial skin, and the baking soda is a gentle exfoliator. Rinse well and follow with a little witch hazel from the dollar store on the blackheads and then and oil-free moisturizer (Yes, they DO make oil-free moisturizers).

I also read that you can use baby shampoo for eye makeup remover, but I use the Walmart brand of Huggies Aloe wipes. I cut them in half because they're too big for just your eyes and they last longer that way. (This is a substitute for the Oil of Olay eye makeup remover wipes.)

I don't know about cheap, but an inexpensive cleanser and skin care routine that I swear by is Paula's Choice. You can find it online at Paulaschoice.com. Paula is the woman who reviews all cosmetics and published the books "Don't Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me".

Her routine cleared up my blackheads quickly and I'm always getting compliments on my skin. People are always shocked when they find out I'm 42---you can't tell by my skin!!

When I was working and using make-up everyday, I always used baby oil to remove the eye make-up. Also, when I was having problems with blackheads, etc, I used a mild facial cleanser first, then wiped my face with Bonne Bell astringent on a cotton ball. The other day, I saw that they now have a Bonne Bell astringent for sensitive skin. Believe me, that stuff removes every remenant of dirt. I am nearly 70 now, and still have beautiful skin When I was in high school, I had terrible acne, so it didn't start out well. Good luck to you.

I had extremely bad acne from age 8 until I was 30. Acne is rated on a scale of 1 to 4 (4 being the worst) based on the type of lesions you have and I had 4 as diagnosed by a dermatologist. I had tried every soap, acne cream, antibiotic, and potion know to man, but nothing really worked. When I was 30, I figured out that drinking milk and eating cheese were aggravating an existing asthma condition.

I quit drinking milk for a couple of weeks to see if it would make a difference because I was tired of the side effects of albuterol. My asthma not only pretty much went away, but my face cleared up completely. I have had virtually no acne since then and it has been 8 years. As far as facial cleansers go, I usually use Oil of Olay foaming cleanser in the winter and Ivory in the summer.

I have always been complimented on my complexion. I don't wear make-up like you do though. I believe make-up prevents your facial skin from breathing and it creates more oil to make up for it. That plus the make-up is a breeding ground for bacteria and we humans are constantly touching our face...

If you must wear make-up, remove eye make-up with petroleum jelly (CHEAP).

Wash your face with an organic natural ingredient soap bar (Super Supplements) at the sink or more quickly in the shower.

If you want to use a toner, use witchhazel, it comes in different scents at Super Supplements.

After that, leave your face to breathe for as long as possible before applying make-up again.

Sleeping with make-up on creates acne.

Using make-up products you are allergic to will create acne as well. Look into trying organic/natural hypo-allergenic make-up products. They aren't cheap, but wearing make-up isn't cheap period.

Johnson & Johnson Purpose face wash is gentle and inexpensive. For large pores, blackheads and bumps, even pimples, put a layer of toothpaste (not gel type) on affected areas at night, then oil-free moisturizer on the rest. I was amazed at how the pores on my nose shrank and whitehead bumps disappeared over a few weeks. The top layer of skin where the bumps had been peeled off and it's new smooth skin. I have read about using toothpaste as an overnight treatment for actual pimples, so thought I'd give it a try on the pores and whiteheads.

Not cheap, but a little goes a long way and it lasts a long time. Serious Skin Care Glycolic cleanser. Available at HSN.com and possibly at your local ULTA store.

Put the cleaner on dry skin, let it stay there for about 5 mins., then rinse. It cleanses, exfoliates and does not dry out the skin like soap. If you normally use a moisturizer, then of course, you'd need one right after using this cleaner.
It's great stuff, I can't recommend it enough. Check out their other basic products, too. Most are excellent.

Ok. My skincare regimen is as follows... hope you can use some of the advice!

Before you touch your face.. always always always wash your hands. I wash my face only twice per day to prevent over drying.

1) Wash face with warm water to open pores
2) Wash with PanOxyl (10% Benzoyl Peroxide face wash)
3) Every other day, wash your face with honey and sugar. The sugar should be coarse enough so you can feel it on your face. Leave on for about 10 mins and massage into your skin to prevent it from dripping. Wash with warm water mixed with baking soda.
4) Be sure to pat dry with a clean towel
5) Use a benzoyl peroxide cream (I use whatever is on sale, 10% solution)
6) Apply an oil free moisturizer with alpha hydroxy acid.
7) Use sunscreen that is oil free.

Don't pick at your blackheads or try to squeeze them out. Don't use those blackhead strips. Try not to use anything with chemicals (except for the benzoyl peroxide). They will all irritate your skin!
Witch hazel and apple cider vinegar are great to freshen up during the day.

As for make up, try Organic Wear by Physican's Formula. It is organic, mineral based make up and it is pretty inexpensive. You can buy it at Target.

I have the same problem as you, with combination skin that is sometimes very oily or very dry and always covered in enlarged pores and the occasional zit (it's a lot better than it used to be). I've tried everything, but in the past few months I've been using the Seaweed facial cleansers and lotions from The Body Shop and I've noticed that my skin is no longer peeling or looking as shiny.

It pretty much balances the tone of it, and because there is less oil, I'm getting less zits. It's very gentle but very effective. Also, if I'm breaking out bad, I use the Tea Tree Oil collection. I don't like it as much though because it will make my skin a little bit more oily but the irritation has lessened. The Body Shop has some fantastic products but they are a bit pricey, it can last a while.

But yeah, try to spend as little time with make up on as possible. I like to spend Sundays in my dorm just doing homework without make up on. It helps to let your skin breath!
