I'm just learning to embroider, are there any other beginners out there. I'm having a little problem with my satin stitches on a large area, I'm not sure where to start stitching?

Satin stitch is the hardest of all for me also. What I find works the best for me anyway is to do the first layer going lengthwise then do the top layer across making the shorter stitches the top layer. Seems to come out smoother for me. Good luck.
