Are you currently registered to vote? If you have moved recently or have just reached voting age, make sure you are registered for the upcoming U.S. primary elections usually held in September.

Why is it important to vote? The people that you let in by default, because you haven't bothered to vote, may or may not be looking out for your best interest. Your local, state and national representatives make decisions about schools, parks, city planning, transportation, college tuition, the environment, homeland security and national defense so they affect all of our lives. They decide how your tax money is being spent. It has never been easier to be a registered voter. Some states will allow nearly anyone to be an absentee voter so all you need to do is fill out your ballot and mail it off by the deadline.
