To avoid ants, put some salt at the place you see them. They hate it and will go away. It's cheap and green living.

This is an impressive idea. I will pour salt around the entrance of ants into the house, next spring when they start coming in. We just moved into this house last year. Then, last spring, they were running in line as hundreds of tiny black ants came in. Thank you so much for your excellent idea.
