Gold Post Medal for All Time! 519 Posts

A tip from my husband - after opening a bag of chips, put them in the tin you saved from the cookies last Xmas and they will stay fresh and crispy!

You can also keep the bag of chips in your freezer. It does keep them fresh.

TIP: CHECK THE EDGES FOR SLIGHT, EVEN TINY MIS-MATCHING BECAUSE KITCHEN MOTHS CAN CRAWL THROUGH A SMALL HOLE ANYWHERE THE FIND IT.
THEY MULTIPLY SO QUICKLY AND ALLOW THE LARVAE TO EAT THE FOODS THAT IT'S A GOOD IDEA TO MAKE CERTAIN YOU HAVE A VERY TIGHT FIT OR USE A TUPPERWARE TYPE CONTAINER INSTEAD.

ALSO, REALLY OLD TINS CAN HAVE MOTH EGGS IN THE BOTTOM CRACK AROUND THE EDGE WHICH WERE EATING CRUMBS FROM WHATEVER WAS THERE LAST AND THE RINSING OUT MIGHT HAVE MISSED.
