Does anyone know of a good online site that's either free or reasonably priced where you can play games against other site members, especially trivia games? (I tried pogo.com but could never get the site to load onto my computer.)

I don't know what is wrong with your computer but I go to pogo.com and the games open up. I think you have to download Java.com for the games to be loaded on to your computer. java is free and takes a minute or two.

A great game site I play at is www.Goldtoken.com . It's not a lot of trivia, but just about every game you can play against another player.
Facebook.com has a lot of games, including Uno, Scrabble, dice games, adventure games, etc. Tons and tons of games.

Yes, pogo uses java. It is the only site I play on now.
I play occasionally at Winster.com-it's free, you just have to deal with the ads, and you play in a room with other people. You chat with them and work cooperatively so everyone has a chance to earn game points-my favorite game there is "Slot Social"
