Removing Duct Tape Residue on Gutters?

Our Christmas lights were taped with silver ducting tape to the guttering, but the sticky residue has remained and is "baked" on and is obvious. It can't be scraped with anything metal as it would scratch the coloured guttering. We have tried many things, but nothing works. Help please.

Goo Gone might work. Also WD40 could work. Try a small patch to see first, just in case they might take the paint off.. Good Luck. GG Vi

If Goo Gone doesn't work, try some Goof Off. It's a similar product, but in my opinion it is stronger than Goo Gone and works faster.

Have you tried cooking oil? Any brand. Put the oil on a wash rag and rub oil in real good. This should take the tape off and will not harm the paint. Hope this helps.
