Taking Out a Splinter

When you or a loved one has a splinter put glue (Elmer's glue or similar) on it. Let it dry for 15-20 minutes. When it dries, peel off the glue and the splinter should come out with it. This eliminates the use of tweezers, pins and most importantly lessens the chance of an infection.

Before getting out a needle or tweezers, try covering the splinter with Scotch tape and then pulling it off, fast and easy.

Even easier is to put a bandaid with Neosporin on it overnight. Then in the morning, scrape your fingernail over the splinter in the opposite direction in went in. It will scrape right out with absolutely no pain! (10/23/2008)

You can also get it out if you put some Iodine around it. It takes awhile thought - a couple of hours, but no pain as well. (10/23/2008)

I've also heard of people putting a little white glue on it and then peeling off the glue and splinter after the glue dries. (10/25/2008)
