Ice Cube Trays?

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 364 Posts

Any gizmos to make ice cubes? Years ago we had a plastic box and special cube trays that, when turned face down and flexed, would drop the ice right into the holding box. Anyone seen one of these lately?

I have seen these at places like a 99 cent store, sometimes in places like target, walmart, etc.

Walmart has the bucket and ice trays, but I haven't seen them packaged together.

I just bought some last week at the dollar store. They usually have them at Wal-Mart too.

The ice cube dispenser and trays came with an old Montgomery Ward refrigerator, I recall. Dh said we had it some 20 years ago.

I have several in a cupboard. Try a yard sale or your a Goodwill or second hand store.

I'm not referring to standard ice cube trays - those are everywhere. I am asking if there is an updated version of the standard plastic or aluminum ice cube tray.

K mart has the bottom ice cube holder container in the plastic bin dept. I use those things for a lot of things. The best ice trays are from tupperware.

Go to Walmart and buy some Rubbermaid ones. A little higher than those at the dollar store but made so much better to last longer!

Remember back in the day, the old metal ones that would pinch the fire out of you? Some things are better left back in the "good ol' days!"

I think that any plastic tray that will flex and drop out the cubes when you turn it upside down. I bought the pastic bucket you are talking about in Wal-Mart last week for about $2.
