Look For Craftsman Tools At Garage Sales

This is a tool tip. Many times when going to yard sales you can find a Craftsman tool that might be broken and you can purchase it for next to nothing. Buy it and go to a Sears store as their policy is that they will replace any Craftsman tool that is broken, free of charge.

A good idea, but truthfully I'd feel funny about it. It's getting something for free, but at Sear's expense. I know they warrantee their tools, but you never know what the owner of it did to it (and they weren't careful enough to think/want to get it replaced themselves). Anyone who's rented property can tell stories of amazingly odd things people do to their stuff. (I'm still wondering how my tenant's dishwasher filter got clogged up with wallpaper that was already on the wall?)

sears won't ask you for a recipt? i can just walk in with the craftsman tool and they will just replace it for free no questions?? that would be awsome..

They will replace it no questions ask. My husband is a mechanic & uses heavy tools daily. He only buys & uses craftsmen for that exact reason because the heavy strain he puts on the tools has to last. He has sdone this for years.Although he only has to exchange them free every 2 yrs or less for they do last that long. He just we there the other day to exchange sockets he wore out from hard use. They do not need or ask for anytype reciet. They do though keep your old ones you bring in & send them back to the manufacture so they know what was replaced.Sears does not loose any money on the exchange the maufacture does bot thats why they warrent the item.

I even ask him that same question the day he exchaged his about wondering if people buy those & do that from flea markets etc. Because we have lots of flea markets where venders sell the tools used but ask high prices not as high as brand new but still high. I don't think they have thought of that yet for themselves to do.

it is true that they will replace craftsmen tools without question..as long as the reason isnt rust or any other typee of "abuse". also it isnt every single king of tool. ratchets and wrenches are included but taps and diees arent.. there are also other tools that are or arent included... i dont htink any power tools are included for that u neeed a receipt and must be before a certain amount of time.
