Shopping For Meat By The Seasons

If you are a veteran grocery shopper you know that many items can be drastically cheaper when they are in season. By preparing meals with foods that are in season you can save a lot of money. Other seasonal deals to look for are meat sales around the holidays. Some examples are:

  • Corned beef before and just after Saint Patrick's Day.
  • Ham before and just after Easter.
  • Hot dogs before the 4th of July (Independence Day in the US).
  • Turkey before and just after Thanksgiving.
  • Ham and turkey before and just after Christmas.

Stock up on these meat items and store them in your freezer.

My suggestion isn't on meats, but check your local grocery's refrigerated mark down section after holidays for their Pillsbury holiday design ready to bake cookies (before holiday, they're $2.xx-$3.xx, After holiday they were .25 cents a can (my most recent great find), this was the smaller can), still a good deal.

Also, our store sells fresh fruits, oranges & apples, by the mesh bag or where you handpick your own, But also, in a brown paper bag with handles (some of the riper fruits at a lower price) check this out, might fit your wallet better than the 'prime' fruits.

Happy Shopping!
