I have lots of crafting supplies, looking for ideas.

I have so many craft products, but at this time I am lost to what to do with all of them. I'm looking for help! I have different...

  • YARDAGE(S), some of holiday, some of seasons, some of colors and of course different textures.

  • SOUP CANS covered in thin batting.
  • RIBBON of all sizes from 1/8 th" to 5" wide, in all colors.
  • SCRAPBOOKING SUPPLIES, papers of all sizes colors and weights, wire, punches, die cuts, and I dired flowers, markers and pencils.
  • WOOD-I have pieces that are in shapes, nothing consistant, but I do have several pieces of pine that are not cut and are 4 to 5' by 10" wide.
  • TILE in small pieces or in 1" to 4" pieces, colors vary
  • MARBLES and glue to glue marbles to something.
  • PAINT of all colors and of all kinds of paint for different projects.
  • PAINT BRUSHES and ALL THAT I NEED.
  • ROCKS yes rocks.
  • QUILLING stuff.
  • PLASTIC yogurt contianers.
  • SEWING MACHINE that is only working once in awhile, at this time.
  • TOOLS, I really enjoy tools too.

So what in the world do I do with all of my stuff? Can anyone help me? What should I make, what should I do? I would like to sell some of my crafts at a church function.

You could cover your tin cans and yogurt containers with fabric and make little jewelry boxes. Fabric (I am assuming your "yardages" is fabric) is =always= a great thing to have. You can make patchwork placemats and napkins, small or large quilts, a set of coasters, little makeup pouches, aprons, table runners, just to name a few. Rocks? Paint them with acrylic paint and print words on them to make childrens' games. (I stole this from the current Woman's Day magazine). Quilling supplies: Christmas ornaments or "sun catcher" ornaments, make something pretty and hang it on a string.

Tile: spoon rests. Sewing machine--either get it repaired or just sew by hand. Hand stitching really is relaxing and you can take it with you. You'd be surprised how much you get done in spare moments here-n-there! You're lucky to have lots of paint. Make little twig picture frames and paint them. Paint those wooden things you have or baskets you get at Goodwill. Make signs out of your wood. Clever sayings like an arrow with "Someone who cares, 3 miles" or "Cat Crossing" are always going to bring a smile. Wish I could come over there; we could have some fun! LOL --Jayne

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ~~~~ Jayne,
Just to get my mind going on some project, then I might be able to think of others. Thanks so very much. I wish you could come over too. I love to shop @ Goodwill and stores with clearance items and a sale is always good. I never buy any of my crafting supplies at cost, only when it is on sale (a good sale) or at clearanced prices.

I buy a lot of my paint at Home Depot, because you can get a "Mixed Wrong" quart for $1.00 and a gallon for $5.00. Then Wallmart has a nice supply and the JoAnns along w/Michaels in my area opened their new stores recently, but b/4 moving to the new stores all was on clearance. :o)
Got to go~~~ Thank you so much.
Hope to keep in touch,
Blessings, Doreen1020

Doreen--
Check out one of my favorite sites! There is a search in there where you could, for example enter the words soup cans and they would bring you ideas for soup cans... :)
The address is: http://www.make-stuff.com

I have the same type of collection. My advice is get your sewing machine fixed or buy a new one. When I got a new machine that worked, my projects got done much faster.

You can always get rid of some things but then, yea, right!

Hi Chelring and Debra,

Thank you both for responding and my brain is starting to work again. LOL !!!

Chelring, I really like, but forgot about the make-stuff internet site. I will be looking at that site in a little while.

Thank you both for your feedback and hope I can help both of you at another time. ;o)
Blessings,
Doreen

You might think of making books for children with pictures, embellishments, etc. There are so many different styles, shapes and sizes you can make. If you're out to make money, sell them at church fairs or holiday fairs. If you just want to be busy and creative, you might think of making books for children and/or adults - then give them to hospitals, shelters for the homeless, or churches that give gifts at Christmas or other times.

If you have fabric, you can make Patchwork Throws of various sizes that cover children to adults. Winter's coming and the homeless really need to keep warm.Good Luck
