Removing Stain on Table Left By Squash Decoration?

We have a light oak dining table with a dark stain, about 2 inches in diameter, left by a small squash used as Halloween decoration. Any ideas as to how to remove or reduce this satin?

You might try using bleach, diluted with much water. Apply with an artists brush or with something that just covers the bad spot. Let this solution dry and if the color has been removed. Wash well with water and then soak the spot with straight white vinegar to "neutralize" the bleach water. You could also try straight peroxide. I don't think this would need to be neutralized (When you neutralize something, you are stopping the product from continuing to "work"). Let us know if this works!
