Who Can Buy and Receive Food from a Food Bank?

Does anyone know if you have to be a non-profit organization to receive/buy food from your local food bank? Or can anyone buy from them? Such as a large family (9) with an annual income of $40,000 qualify?

At our church, anyone is welcome. I haven't heard of groups have qualifiers so simply call around. It sounds that you have a high need with so many mouths! Best to you

Our local church foodbank doesn't have any requirements but need - altho you have to know that you get canned goods, packaged goods, etc. - but every source is different...

You might also check online at www.angelfoodministries.com. They work with local churches and sell units of food very cheap. There is a menu for each month and the also take food stamps.

You are allowed to buy any number of units and there are also specials you can buy if you buy a unit of food. Good luck.

In Florida we have the SHARE program. I don't know where else it is might be a help. You might give it a lookup on the internet to find out more about it.

ANGEL FOOD MINISTRIES.com ANYONE IS ALLOWED TO BUY FOOD. It cost $25 a month for enough food stuff & meats to feed a family of four for a month. A single person could eat of it for 6 weeks. The food entries change each month (you have to order one month in advance so they have enough food on hand) WE HAVE USED IT SEVERAL TIMES when we had too.

Good luck - don't be embarrassed by this & check them out.

Yes, to purchase from a food bank, such as one that sells to food pantries, you must be a non-profit organization or church.
