Wool is the hair of sheep and works the same.
I am a spinner, and buy raw fleece and after washing, processing it, there is waste. I like to put that in holes when I put in starts. You can also use pieces of old wool blankets and dog hair as well.
If it's in small amounts sprinkle it on top, as mentioned, if in larger amounts, or too unsightly, bury it near or under plants.
Meghan, you are lucky. The deer here in Gbg, PA eat our garden no matter how much hair we put out.
