Keeping Cats from Getting Under the House?

My cats keep getting under our house. They are getting in through the vents in the foundation. How can we stop them from getting in through the vents, since we can't completely stop the vents up?

Get some chicken wire at the local hardware store and look for a way to cover the vents. Not knowing what the vents look like I can't suggest a way to adhere the wire to the vent.

If you can get under the house to access the backs of the vents, attach window screening from the hardware store.

Door screening or other wire mesh should work too and is also available at the hardware store. Take a picture of the vents with you because there is bound to be an employee who has enough knowledge to help tell you how to attach it properly when seeing what they look like.

If you use door screening and one of the vents is for the clothes dryer you'll want to check it every now and then to make sure the screening material doesn't clog up with lint.
