Sugar-Free Iced Chai Lattes

Our family decided to cut out soda and fruit juices because of the high sugar, calories, and cost. But milk and water were getting a little boring, so I started experimenting with iced teas. The winner by a landslide was this iced chai latte recipe, which is now everyone's favorite! I calculated the cost-per-batch, and it is about $1.20 (using stevia sweetener).

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 quarts of water
  • 3 quarts of ice cubes
  • 7 chai tea bags (regular or caffeine-free)
  • 10 packets stevia sweetener (or 3/4 cup sugar)
  • 1 1/2 cups 1% milk

Directions:

Items needed: Coffee pot/iced tea maker/sauce pan for brewing and 3-quart pitcher

Add the ice cubes to the pitcher. In a coffee pot or iced tea maker, brew the tea bags with the water. Pour the brewed tea into the pitcher. Dissolve the sweetener or sugar into 1/2 cup warm water, and add to the pitcher. Add the milk, and stir to mix ingredients.
