Compacting the Trash

When using canned foods and products, if at all possible, cut both ends off the can and smash the can till it's flattened. If you'll also flatten any boxes, you're going to put in the trash can and bag, the more you'll be able to put in the trash can. Trash bags aren't cheap, but they are a necessity, unless you live in the country or rural area and can burn your trash.

By Terri from NV Editor's Note: Recycling will cut down your garbage even more. We can recycle both cans and boxes in my area. Make sure to recycle and reuse what you can.
