We have just renovated a great mid-century cottage in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. We managed to save one of the original bathrooms but the old chrome fixtures in the sink are all pock marked. Does anyone have a cure?

It is probably better to replace them. You can find very nice styles that match the original.
If you really want to save the originals, you might be able to have them "re-chromed". This is done to car parts, so you need to contact someone who re-chromes metal. It will cost.
While you're at it, replace the washers, etc.
