I have a model 6268 Singer sewing machine and I cannot find the dog feed lever or button.

Hi Mary, If you've been trying to "Google" this question, try reversing the words. Those things are call "feed dogs".
Go to www.singerco.com and type in the model #. They allowed me to download and print my manual for free. I hope this helps if you don't have the manual.
The 6268 has no feed dog drop. You should have a clear plastic cover, usually referred to as a "darning cover". You put that on so the feed dogs are no advancing the fabric.
