Getting Rid of Leftovers After a Community Sale?

We just had a community sale. I am looking for group or organization that will come and take away all the boxed up "stuff" that was unsold - any suggestions?

There are homeless shelters that might need things you have left. Most areas have women's shelters that will take donations. You can look for GoodWill centers or Salvation Army centers. Most large cities in our area have both. St. Vincent DePaul is a Catholic organization that accepts a lot of donations. You can look in Yahoo Groups for a freecycle group close to you. You can join and post a message saying that all has to be taken. Good luck.

Check out your local FreeCycle group (Freecycle.org). When you post a message offering your left over stuff, you'll be amazed at how many people want it AND will come to your place to pick it up!

This past summer a local church went by every local yard sale offering to take any unsold items at the end of the day. We just called them and they were there in 15 min.

They loaded up everything and they will distribute through their church to the needy at no cost to the anyone.

local schools often have jumble sales or white elephant sales. Future Farmers of American and other school groups are always looking for ways to raise money. i'd give them the first chance at it. after them, i'd try good will or the council for the blind.

whenever our church has left over food we usually send it to our local house of hope. this is a safe house for abused women and children. call 1st and make arrangements with the organization for now and later.

Our church gave to the Boy Scouts of America, local group. They just happened to be having a yard sale fundraiser, that same weekend.
