My husband had something sticky on a guitar and the tiniest bit of olive oil
worked wonders!

It can remove some, like postage stamps. Apply the vinegar from the back side. If the sticky residue is from tape, price stickers, or hot glue a piece of tape is the best thing I ever found to remove it.

Don't know about vinegar but an oily substance will remove a lot. I've used cooking spray or vegetable oil on sticky stuff left from labels on bottles.

Off your subject, but I've also used cooking spray on squeaky doors.

I use WD-4o to remove glue from plastic. Just spray it on, let it set a minute and wipe it off. Wash as normal

Not sure about vinegar but Goo-Gone works really well.

Vegetable Oil worked wonders to remove a sticky substance on the bottom of a new kitchen pan. I tried for 10 minutes to scurb with warm soapy water before I gave up and looked for an alternatice.
