Craft: Top Hat Centerpiece

I bought plastic top-hats at a discount party store for about $1.00 each, punched a small hole in the top, and used curling ribbon to anchor gold balloons to the hat. For our reunion, I put the top hat on an 80's prom dress, and decorated with old CDs, 45 records, music-note confetti, prom tickets, etc. For Prom or a more formal party, place the top hat/balloons on top of a single mirror square along with small white votive candles.

One centerpiece cost me $3.00, with the majority of the cost being the CDs and records from a thrift store. This can be as dressy or casual as you wish. Mirror squares are often found at thrift stores or on sale at craft stores.
