Rough Spots on Leather?

I used the tip to remove acetone free nail polish remover to remove white scuff marks from my blue patent leather handbag - it worked great! However, I then used the polish remover rather over-zealously to remove paint marks on my brown moc croc leather handbag. This handbag now has rough patches where it was rubbed with the polish remover. Is there a way to smooth out the roughness?

You could try to use liquid shoe polish of the same color - to match the gloss -
