How can I wash a 100% silk blouse that has instructions to dry clean only?

Many silk blouses are actually hand washable, but some water spot. Try wetting a small corner to see how the silk reacts, if it doesn't water spot, you can wash it very gently by hand with cool water & gentle soap.

You stand a better chance of success if the blouse is lighter in color (dark colors often bleed and fade) and doesn't have embroidery (it puckers) or other embellishments (ribbons, pleats, beads) as they don't wash well.
