Bronze Request Medal for All Time! 65 Requests

I am looking for a high level sun block that also has a bug repellent in it. Does anyone know the name of one? Or, does anyone have a recipe for one?

You don't want to use a combination sunscreen/ bug repellent, it can be very toxic, especially to children!

Bug repellent is designed to stay on top of your skin/clothing to deter the bugs & is usually applied only 1-2x/day. If it has DEET in it, that is a toxic chemical. Sunscreen is designed to be absorbed into the skin & should be applied every few hours or more often if you sweat or swim.

If you apply a bug spray and then sunscreen, or use a combination, the sunscreen will absorb into the skin, taking the chemicals from the bug spray into your skin along with it. This has a toxic effect on the body & can damage the internal organs and or possibly cause cancer. It is even worse on children because their small bodies are absorbing large amounts of these chemicals!

I don''t know why these manufacturers are still being allowed to mix the 2 together. I first heard of this 6-8 years ago & there have been several studies on it that offer evidence to prove it. Just do a Google search on it & you'll find several reputable websites that cite these studies.
