Chocolate Caramel Bars

Ingredients:

Group 1:

  • 1 German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. burnt sugar flavoring

Group 2:

  • 1 pkg. caramels
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk

Group 3:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • caramel mixture

Directions:

Combine group 1 ingredients; press 1/2 of mixture in a 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 6 minutes. Melt together group 2 and 3 ingredients. Layer on baked crust. Spoon on remaining cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15-18 minutes. Cool thoroughly before cutting into bars. Refrigerate. Can be frozen.

Love this because I love chocolate and caramel. They are my favorite and this makes a great combo!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix first 3 ingredients in bowl. Press half mixture into greased and floured 9x13 inch baking pan. Bake for 6 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk in saucepan. Pour over chips. Crumble remaining cake mixture on top. Bake for 15-18 minutes. Cool before cutting.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 2 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 jar caramel ice cream topping (12 oz)
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

In a bowl combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Set half aside for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture into greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips, whisk the caramel topping with a little flour until smooth and drizzle on top of chocolate chips, then sprinkle with remaining crumb mixture. Bake 18-20 minutes. Cool 2 hours before cutting.
