Anyone here think of using household brands and products not tested on animals? Most products for bath, body and household are tested on animals by having the animals drink these concoctions, everything from cleaners to perfumes, lotions and more which are literally poured down the animal's throat and/or poured in their eyes, all so the manufacturer can attest whether or not they are "harmful to humans"!
This testing is done mostly on unwanted cats and dogs, either from pounds and shelters or kidnapped from our homes. It's just horrible, disgraceful and it goes on continuously! I wish more folks would use products not tested on animals. Even "Bath and Body Works" products claim on their products: "finished product not tested on animals" What does this mean? It means that some or most of the ingredients are still tested on animals?
I am currently researching companies and products that absolutely do not animal test. One of them is "Seventh Generation", who, for years, has come through for those of us who are truly concerned about animal welfare. I will inform everyone of other companies when I come across them.
But be aware: Just because a company claims their products are NOT tested on animals does not mean this is the case. Many companies have lied about this, claiming no animal testing is done because the fact is, at present there is simply no law in effect which requires these companies to back up their statements to the public. It is something that must be acknowledged and if all of you ladies and gents love your pets and any animals, then you must realize the heavy price they are paying for our selfish vanity and convenience!

A lot of the animal org. web sites have brochures you can order that give the companies who don't test. I have ordered them many times over the years. I just try not to use many chemicals in general.
Yes, animal testing is not necessary and incredibly cruel!!

This will give you a Word file that can be saved or printed that lists companies that have complete product lines without using animal testing or using animal ingredients in their products. This is a Peta website and I do not endorse Peta as a lot of their information and tactics are not entirely truthful or ethical either but they do provide a continually updated list of companies that are Cruelty Free and that I endorse!!

Seventh Generation does have great products! I'm quickly becoming a big fan, and don't mind paying a little more for natural, cruelty-free products.

i agree. animal testing is horrible. they should be licensed to animal test by paying a high fine if they choose to do it. find other ways to test products and limit the animals being totured and killed.

Great idea now. Time to boycott the companies that do test on animals. It makes me sick. Even Iams tests on animals!
Yes it is so wrong. I absolutely hate people who test on animals. Ii always buy "no animal tested" products and animals ingredients! It's so sick. It should be band right now.
Burt's bees products are also not tested on animals, as well as seventh generation products.
i think that it is wrong to test on animals because you would not like it if we tested on you and drugged you and tested bleach and other household products on you. We are against testing makeup and other things on animals. Stop testing on animals.
Testing on animals should be only allowed for products made for animals. I am completely against testing household cleaners and make-up on animals.
I think that animal testing is one of the great deceptions of our time. Not only are millions of animals suffering immensely, but even worse, its all so unnecessary. Think about it? People defend animal testing, especially in the medical world, but personally, I expected more from such intelligent people. If a close family member can react differently to a medication, which happens often enough, then how is it logical that drugs are tested on animals for human safety, when their not only not family, but an entirely different species!? Even when the products are have awful affects on the animals, they are sometimes released onto the market. Remember thalomide, the drug meant for morning sickness that caused serious birth defects? As far as animal testing for cosmetics and house hold products goes, I think this is something that must be stopped immediately. Or has our society become so vain that we can condone this atrocity?

I think it's disgusting but I can't really say anything because I do use products such as ysl dior etc. But if they could find another way which there is instead of using poor innocent animals. The body shop isn't tested on animals.
Actually unfortunately the Body Shop is now owned by L'Oreal! Those Sell outs! And it is so easy to make the switch to products that have not been tested on animals, and as these products tend to be organic, it's BETTER for you, too!
I heard an interview on Triple J with one of the women who started Body Shop. Obviously defending her position, but she couldn't understand why people said Body Shop was a "sell out". Body shop still hold their CCIC rating see: www.leapingbunny.org It was L'Oreal wanting to improve their image and so they purchased the Body Shop. As part of the deal the owners of Body Shop insisted the integrity of the product and fundamentals behind it were kept. Whether or not it has improved L'Oreals ethics I don't know, but I believe body shop products are still not tested on animals.
There's a lot of companies that don't do animal testing. I came across presentinity.com, they sell makeup and sets by companies certified as not testing on animals - including the ingredients and final product. Check it out, they have nice things and the prices are reasonable.
Animal testing is cruel. I don't buy products that were tested on animals. I use Omorovicza, Murad, and Burt's Bees skin care line. These products are not tested on animals.
