This picture was taken last October on Clingman's Dome. You can see the mountain tops peeking through the clouds. We had to climb a trail for about 30 minutes to get to the look-out tower, but it was well worth the climb.
As you can see looking out over the clouds, it almost looks like snow. I was so amazed at the beauty of it. All I could do was stare.

My husband calls it "The Smoky Mountains Misty Morning Magic Kiss"...in a song he wrote about the area. Once you've seen and experienced it, it stays in your heart and mind for the rest of your life, I think. I have only to close my eyes to bring it all back.
