Are you talking about home-made dog biscuits? If so, add the liquid from a couple of Vitamin E capsules, the kind use for supplements (pierce with a needle or pin and squeeze out the oil) and stir it into the biscuit dough. Vitamin E is a preservative used in dog foods and commercial dog treats.

If you are talking home-made dog biscuits, add the contents of a couple of Vitamin E capsules;the kind used for human supplements(pierce with a pin or needle and squeeze out the oil) into the dough as you are making them. Vitamin E is a natural preservative used in some dog foods and treats.

My advice to you is not to use any preservatives period, simple dehydrate your treats, They are far safer and better for your dog in the long run,

Many people don't seem to realize how much these two "Natural" preservatives are being used, Our dogs are getting overloaded on these "Natural Vitamins, What kind of problems is this going to lead to next...

Dehydrated/Dried treats will keep well over 6 months is stored properly, And no they don't have to be kept in a fridge or Refrigerator, Just store them in a dry, cool place away from moisture.
