Separating Plants in a Dish Garden?

I received a lovely large dish garden. It has 8 different plants. When should I separate and repot?

Hardiness Zone: 6a

Thanks, have a great day.

Peggy,
I have received a few dish gardens and I usually separate them relatively early, before the different plant roots get too grown and intertwined, that way there is less damage to the root systems when you pull them apart. I sometimes repot two plants together, but in a larger pot so I can keep them there for a while. I have a palm and a philodendron together from a dish garden I received more than 10 years ago!

Good luck!
