I am a 50 year old African American woman, I use relaxer products. I have naturally dark brown hair with a hint of red. Since I am graying, I have been using temporary colors like Jazzing, beautiful brown, etc. Toasted chestnut is the best match for my natural color, but the grey hairs are then too light, almost orange/bronze. Can I double color my hair, use a dark warm brown and then use toasted chestnut in the same day?

If you're using temporary or semi-permanent colors (no peroxide) I don't think it will hurt your hair to double color it in one day. But if you are using permanent colors that use peroxide, I think it would be best to wait one week to do the second color. It's best to give your hair a rest between chemical treatments especially the colors that use peroxide.
I read your post a second time, and if you decide to use a relaxer on the same day, please wait one week before you color your hair. Again you are using a strong chemical to relax the curl in your hair. There might be other hairdressers who might disagree with me, and if so I hope that they post their comments.

Might I suggest using a Clairol Beautiful Collection 3 oz bottle of Dark Warm Brown and adding 1/2 oz of Light Reddish Brown instead of double coloring? You'll get the dark coloring you want with a hint of red. Get a professional color applicator bottle (they're only a dollar or so at beauty supply stores and they last forever) and do the measure, mixture and application in that. You'll have enough of the Light Reddish Brown for 5 more applications after that. If by some chance that's not enough red for you using the 1/2 oz just increase it to 1 ounce the next time you color.
The reason the Jazzing turns out the way it does is because it's a sheer color. Beautiful Color is a cover color and made to coat 50% of gray. Not 50% of the gray hairs but 50% gray coverage (I hope that makes sense. Sort of a highlighted look).
You can use Beautiful Color the same day as relaxing because of it's formulation but still just be gentle in between applications by not vigorously combing through your hair or roughing it up with a towel or drying with a hot dryer. One of my specialties as a hairstylist for 35 years was chemical applications. I had combination relaxer/color clients of various ages and ethnicity who didn't want their curls, waves, kinks at all or simply wanted to tame them but almost all wanted color too.

I like the overall results of jazzing over a semi perm. color. I usuually wait 2 weeks. But with the gray quickly advancing, I no longer have that option.
