Storing Firewood In Deck Box?

You don't need -- or want -- to store firewood in a box. Indeed, it could cause the wood to molder (rot, decay) from high humidity in the box, instead of drying/curing completely.

Just stack the wood chunks in a remote corner of your yard -- somewhat haphazardly -- mainly leaving space for air to circulate between them. Normal rainfall won't bother the firewood.

Way back when, in northern MN, we would cut next year's firewood this fall, after cool weather arrived, then stack it the way I mentioned. It would "season" for a full year until next heating season arrived. But was perfectly good to burn in a firepit any time the next summer.
