What to Ask For When Buying a Car From a Dealer

If you're thinking about buying a new or used vehicle, ask for these few things and you will save hundreds of dollars:

  • Ask for a "zero deduction" in case you need repairs.

  • Ask for a free loaner vehicle when repairs are needed and be sure to get that in writing, because when you need it, the service writer will not know you were told you got those things. Keep records of all repairs in case you get a lemon.

  • If you buy the extended warranty, be sure you read that Seals and Gaskets are covered, or you will be buying a hand full of nothing. I have witnessed that already.

Good luck.

One more thing about that extended warranty, if you financed through the the dealership consider re-financing with a credit union, some can offer the same extended warranty for half the price.

The Lemon Law applies to all new and used vehicles and the advice is free, you don't put out any cash to get a good lemon law attorney.
