Silver Post Medal for All Time! 364 Posts

I need to brew coffee for 11 people and don't have a coffee maker that large (ours is a 2 cup).

We have that problem here too... 4 cup pot maker with family that visits a lot on the weekends. We bought a thermos carafe (silver and black like you see at restaurants) and make a few pots to fill just before company arrives. It's perfect! It may be a bit time consuming for you with only a two pot maker, your other option is a box of joe from Dunkin Donuts!

You can probably get a larger coffee pot for free from freecycle, cragislist, etc. Or see if you can borrow a larger coffee pot from a neighbor, friend or relative. If you are serving coffee to 11 people you may have to make several pots with 10-12 cup coffee maker.

Might be a good idea to brew some in advance and put it in a carafe or thermos. And you could also find out if anyone drinks decaf, and use the 2 cup pot for that.

You can buy a 12 cup coffee maker at the Dollar Store for 10 bucks---use it for a crowd and put it away till you need it next time!

Brew it ahead of time and put it in a crock pot, works great for hot chocolate. Put everything in the crock pot and stir.

Try the thrift store, you can usually find larger coffee makers for around $3-$5....much easier!

You could search for egg coffee recipe. Makes wonderful coffee and you can use a pan to make it.

A coffee maker is just a way to brew coffee without your having to watch it. I suggest using a large pot, a coffee filter, a strainer and boiling water.

Just measure how much coffee you need and pour the boiling water slowly through the filter which you have placed over the pot by using the strainer.

Here is something you can try. Try making Coffee Ice Cubes. When your guest come over all you have to do is to put them in cup and and microwave. You might be able to fit several cups at one time.
