I once saw a show on how to make a poster look like a painting on canvas by pasting the poster onto a piece of stretched canvas with podgee. Does anyone have the instructions?

I don't know about putting in on canvas, but you can mount posters on a backing with mod-podge (or just use thinned white glue) and then put in brush strokes when you apply the podge/glue. It will dry to a shiney, somewhat textured finish. This is particularly good for nice images on newsprint or other perishable paper - as it preserves it.

yes but you need a negative of your poster , you can get it mirrored at kinkos or some store like that get some matte medium semi gloss and water it down a little cover your canvas with the gloss then put your poster face down cover the top of the poster with the gloss let the canvass dry then slightly wet the canvas and peel the first layer of paper off in strips then rub off the second layer
after finished cover the thing with the gloss again to make it water tight then you can apply more coats of the gloss if desired each coat of the gloss will make it darker
