Has anyone used Animal Off, a device that emits a sound that wards off pests? Does it work?

Do not waste your money. Does not work! The chipmunks dig their holes right alongside the unit. Also a few weeks after placing my order, the company began a telephone harassment campaign by calling me 7-8 times daily. Save yourself a headache and do not deal with AnimalOff.
Most forms of constant sound can be ignored once an animal gets used to it. It may work for a day but it will eventually just become back round sound to the animal. Only way sound would work is loud sporadic thumping or base sound that shakes things because it makes the animal feel threatened but naturally.
