I think if you are 26 years old, you likely have very good skin and do not need to worry about exfoliation. I wouldn't do anything special if I were you -- just keep your skin clean with mild soap, and wear sunscreen.

There are many skin types, diets, hygeine routines, and wrong beliefs, which mean: Depending upon your vitamin/mineral/RX drugs/habits/weight/over all health and habits, you can only gain a little general advice.

Having been told that my skin is unusually clear and having few wrinkles for my age, I can assure you that it was with simplicity but conscious effort that I was able to achieve this.

The general information is:

Purchase a bundle of white terry towels and pillow cases, so that you can assure yourself of less hidden soil that can cause skin problems.

Keep hair brushes/combs VERY clean, storing them away from dirt and dust which contain harmful bacteria and dustmites which contribute to skin eruptions.

Limit time in the sun, wearing high SPF lotion and not trying to tan.

NEVER touch your face/eyes/freshly cleaned skin with dirty hands or linens. Practice sanitation, washing hands often, and ALWAYS before cleansing skin.

Never ride in a convertible, on a long bike/motorcycle ride without a helmet, or sunbathe
without high SPF sunscreen AND a wide-brimmed hat or visor.

NEVER use barsoap on the face or delicate parts of the body, unless Neutragena or glycerine clear soaps. Use gentle quick-liquifying liquid soap designed for normal skin, unless your's is not.

Never apply mineral oil/baby oil to your skin. It causes pore to permanently enlarge! Never use cold creams. Avoid stearates, straight alcohol, Witch Hazel, and off-brand "moisturizers" that have no ingredient list.

Buy a "hand shaped scrubber glove" each month and scrub the dead skin off with a DRY glove, rinsing the glove in soap/hot water to cleanse it for the next use. Do this only once a week. Do NOT scrub anything that looks like a wart. or mole. See a Dermatologist if you have those things.

With normal skin, NEVER scrub your skin with bar soaps of ANY kind. Always use bleached white terry face cloths, to avoid spreading any conditions/infections from eruptions/acne on the face back/chest.

Watch your diet. Keep low in chocolate/Trans fats/ and fried foods.

Don't be a couch potato or lie down on upholstery that seldom gets cleaned. It should be vacuumed and cleaned every month or so with a steamer.

CHANGE pillows on your bed twice a year, pillowcases
ONCE A WEEK, along with clean sheets.

DON'T USE VERY Hot water in the shower or bath because it destroys the helpful bacteria which is on the surface of the skin to protect against the worst of harmful bacteria, and fungi/yeast.

Take a children's multivitamin and mineral daily or every other day. DRINK plenty of water, but limit carbonation/caffeine, alcohol, and high sugared drinks. Don't allow others to touch your face with unwashed hands.Don't lie down on any surface bareskinned unless surface has been freshly sanitized.

Exfoliation occurs naturally every so often, and so one does not need to OVER-exfoliate. Work towards keeping exercise/water/diet in balance.

When scrubbing with dry hand-shaped nylon knitted scrubber, use a different glove finger for each different part of the face, such as a new finger for the chin, one for the left cheek, one for the right cheek, one for the forehead, one for the lip area.
This exfoliates normal to oily skin

Pat and/or blow dry skin. When dry, apply small amount of MILD HAIR CONDITIONER for PROTECTION ONLY. IT has the added benefit of
placing a dust barrier against dust/dirt until next cleansing. It will not feel too oily or too dry, only slightly tightens skin.

The microbeads which are expensive and claim to cleanse the skin may work beautifully but need to be replaced each time to eliminate contamination

from cleansing to cleansing. The tiny handheld battery facial skin scrubber uses pads that must be replaced EACH time used, an unnecessary expense.
The company tries to sell a complete "line" of chemicals/soaps/oils/astringents for this process, which seems like overkill to me.

If you have extremely oily skin, use a French or imported milled fine bar soap to combat/dissolve the oils, then the mild Hair Conditioner as a protectant against dust in the air. If you have dry skin, Oil of Olay worked a VERY long time on my aging aunt who looked lovely until she died normally.

Wash hair 2-3 times per week, and if you have long hair, know that it collects MUCH more dust/dirt than short hair. Consider keeping it up off your skin, or cutting it regularly, and shampooing with normal PH balanced shampoo/ and using warm, NOT HOT rinse water when washing hair/bathing. Bathe in a clean tub/shower. NEVER SWIM IN THE LAKES because of the high bacteria count, unless an emergency.

When reclining make certain that the surfaces your skin contacts are clean or covered in a towel that can be washed.

Always wear some sort of liquid makeup base lightly around the most oily areas, or on any unsightly eruptions in the skin.

NEVER use harsh chemicals on the skin.

All of these things will help to have lovelier skin. God bless and help you. : )

I use a little salt sometimes in my facial cleanser. It's an inexpensive exfoliant. Just gently scrub and not too hard around delicate eye area.

Why not try the facial foam wash and a little bit of salt? It really works.

Never smoke. Smoking makes wrinkles sooner.

Make an exfoliator using these ingredients.
2 Tbsp Ground Almond
1 Tsp Honey
1 Tbsp Ground Oatmeal
Enough raw milk to make a thick paste.
Mix everything properly and apply on your face. Rinse off after 20 minutes(Gently scrub while rinsing off). It will help remove dead skin and you can see an amazing glow on your face. Do this once a week.
